Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in medication preparation, labeling, and distribution activities. This role performs a broad range of technical support functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring safe and accurate handling of medications to optimize patient drug therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing.
- Perform technical support functions including inventory management and documentation.
- Support sterile compounding and medication packaging processes.
- Handle and store medications in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications.
- Participate in ongoing training and adhere to departmental policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current, unencumbered Certified state Pharmacy Technician License (required upon submission).
- Successful completion of a Medical Pharmacy Technician course (preferred).
- Pre-employment drug screen required.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience.
- Sterile compounding experience.
Certifications (if any)
- Certified state Pharmacy Technician License – required.
