  • Job Summary  
    The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive care to patients during childbirth, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. This role is responsible for monitoring maternal and fetal health, administering medications, assisting physicians during delivery, and supporting patients and families through the birthing process. The RN ensures safe, evidence-based care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    2. Current Registered Nurse license in the state where care is provided
    3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    4. Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
    5. Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Labor and Delivery.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
    2. Five (5)+ years of recent Labor and Delivery experience (within the last 2 years).
    3. One (1) year of high-risk labor and delivery experience (within the last 2 years).
    4. High-risk OB experience strongly preferred.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
    2. Monitor maternal and fetal status, including vital signs, contractions, and fetal heart rate.
    3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    4. Assist physicians and mid-level providers during deliveries and procedures.
    5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
    6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
    7. Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide neonatal resuscitation as required.
    8. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
