  • Job Summary
    The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with cardiovascular conditions. This role requires technical expertise in echocardiography, patient care skills, and adherence to established protocols and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform echocardiographic examinations including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms as ordered by physicians.
    2. Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images.
    3. Analyze and record diagnostic data for physician interpretation.
    4. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
    5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
    6. Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
    7. Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions or service needs.
    8. Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
    2. Completion of an accredited echocardiography program.
    3. Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
    4. Proficiency in operating echocardiography equipment and related technology.
    5. Excellent communication and patient care skills.
    6. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    2. Experience with advanced echocardiographic techniques (e.g., 3D imaging, strain analysis).

    Certifications
    1. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
