Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role plays a vital part in promoting safe and effective medication use while supporting overall patient health.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosage instructions.
- Provide counseling to patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Monitor patient health outcomes and recommend adjustments to therapy when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and therapeutic uses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to train and mentor pharmacy staff.
Certifications (if any)
- Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other specialty certifications preferred.
