JOB SUMMARY Provides direct and indirect patient care and assists the surgical team in the Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities - Sets up and maintains the operating room surgical environment. - Performs surgical scrubs functions. - Assists surgeons and nurses with patient care during surgical procedures. - Selects, gathers, and arranges sterile instruments, sutures, and supplies for surgical procedures. - Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides necessary instruments and supplies in a timely manner. - Prepares and disposes of surgical specimens and waste. - Adheres to sterile technique principles and infection control policies. - Maintains a safe and organized operating room environment. - Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Completion of a recognized Operating Room Technician program or equivalent training and experience. - Certification as an Operating Room Technician (e.g., CNOR, CST) may be required or preferred.
Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience - Experience as an Operating Room Technician.
Skills - Proficient in sterile technique and surgical procedures. - Knowledge of surgical instruments and their usage. - Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
EMR / Systems - Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
