  • Job Summary
    The Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced telemetry unit. This role involves continuous cardiac monitoring, interpreting EKG rhythms, responding to changes in patient conditions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. The RN will utilize clinical expertise, critical thinking, and advanced assessment skills to support patients with cardiac and medical needs.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and update care plans accordingly
    • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols
    • Respond promptly to changes in patient status, including cardiac emergencies
    • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members
    • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
    • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care at all times

    Required Qualifications
    • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
    • Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience (Telemetry or Step-Down experience strongly preferred)
    • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and EKG interpretation
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment
    • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient-care skills

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    • 2+ years of Telemetry, Progressive Care, or Cardiac Unit experience
    • Prior experience within a hospital environment
    • Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)

    Certifications (if any)
    1. BLS (Basic Life Support) — required
    2. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) — required
    3. NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) — preferred
