  • Job Summary:
    The CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Technician plays a critical role in supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining specialized equipment and instruments. The technician ensures a sterile environment and collaborates closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to facilitate efficient and safe operations.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Prepare, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment specific to cardiovascular procedures.
    2. Assist in setting up the operating room for cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
    3. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment during procedures, troubleshooting any issues promptly.
    4. Assist surgical teams by anticipating their needs and providing instruments and supplies efficiently.
    5. Adhere to strict infection control and sterilization protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
    6. Document equipment use, maintenance, and surgical supplies inventory.
    7. Participate in equipment maintenance, calibration, and safety checks.
    8. Support post-operative cleanup and ensure readiness of the OR for subsequent cases.

    Required Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
    2. Previous experience as a surgical technician, preferably in cardiovascular or operating room settings.
    3. Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical instrument handling.
    4. Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced surgical environments.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT) preferred.
    2. Experience in cardiovascular operating room settings.

    Certifications:
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
    2. Surgical Technologist certification (CST) or cardiovascular-specific certifications (if applicable).
