Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technician to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) team. The technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic obstetric and gynecologic ultrasounds to assist physicians in evaluating fetal development and maternal health. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, compassion, and professionalism while working closely with patients and clinical staff in a fast-paced MFM environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-resolution obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations, including first-trimester, anatomical, and growth scans.
- Assist physicians with targeted, Doppler, and invasive procedure-guided scans (e.g., amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling).
- Document and label images accurately within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or PACS system.
- Collaborate closely with MFM specialists, nurses, and genetic counselors to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Provide compassionate care and clear explanations of procedures to patients and families.
- Adhere to all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in perinatal sonography.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in OB/GYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine ultrasound.
- Proficiency in obstetric and gynecologic imaging, including Doppler and fetal biometry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and clinical staff.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in a Maternal Fetal Medicine or high-risk obstetrics setting.
- Familiarity with GE or Philips ultrasound systems and EMR/PACS platforms.
- Experience supporting perinatal diagnostic or invasive procedures.
Certifications (if any)
- ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine (OB/GYN Specialty) – Required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – Required.
- NT (Nuchal Translucency) certification – Preferred.
