  • Job Summary  
    The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients experiencing urgent and emergent medical conditions. The RN collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on acuity.
    2. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
    3. Monitor patient status and respond rapidly to changes in condition.
    4. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families in crisis situations.
    5. Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
    6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity.
    7. Participate in emergency response procedures, including trauma, cardiac arrest, and disaster preparedness.
    8. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control practices.

    Required Qualifications
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
    • Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience; prior emergency or critical care experience strongly preferred.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
    • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
    2. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
    3. Experience in emergency, trauma, or critical care nursing.

    Certifications
    1. Required: RN license, BLS, ACLS.
    2. Preferred: PALS, TNCC, or other emergency nursing certifications.
