  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pediatric Surgery team at a leading healthcare facility. This position is ideal for candidates with strong operating room (OR) experience, particularly in pediatric surgical procedures. The role requires expertise in a fast-paced surgical environment and the ability to provide compassionate, high-quality care to pediatric patients.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assist in pediatric surgical procedures, ensuring strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols.
    2. Monitor patient status and vital signs during procedures, collaborating with the surgical team to respond to changing patient needs.
    3. Maintain and prepare surgical equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
    4. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to pediatric patients.
    5. Document all care accurately in the Epic EMR system.
    6. Adhere to facility-specific protocols, including compliance with mandatory flu vaccination and drug/nicotine screening policies.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Minimum 2+ years of OR experience, including pediatric surgery.
    2. Recent travel RN experience, documented in an up-to-date resume.
    3. Availability of two recent OR Supervisor/Manager references.
    4. Completed Skills Checklist relevant to OR specialty.
    5. Must be willing to work in a nicotine-free facility (nicotine testing required along with drug screening).
    6. All RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted at the time of application.
    7. Proficient in Epic EMR system.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience in high-acuity pediatric surgical units.
    2. Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

    Certifications
    1. BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
    2. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required
    3. PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization) – Required
    4. CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) – Preferred
    5. CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) – Preferred
