Position Overview
The Cardiology Department is seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to support outpatient clinical operations across multiple Client Medical Office Building sites. This role involves direct patient care, triage, and procedure support within a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate has an acute care background and cardiology experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and patient assessment within the cardiology clinic setting.
- Conduct patient triage via telephone and email encounters.
- Insert intravenous (IV) lines and administer IV medications in the clinic.
- Serve as the designated “patient in distress” responder for the building as needed.
- Assist with or provide cross-coverage for cardiac stress testing activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Travel between assigned Client locations (Viewridge, San Marcos, SDMC) as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Acute care nursing background.
- Strong IV insertion and IV medication administration skills.
- Proficiency in patient triage and clinical decision-making.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Previous cardiology experience.
- Experience supporting outpatient clinic operations across multiple sites.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
