  •  Job Summary
    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse – CVOR to join our surgical team. This role involves providing direct patient care before, during, and after complex cardiovascular surgeries. The CVOR RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care in a high-acuity operating room environment. Ideal candidates have strong critical thinking skills, can perform under pressure, and are experienced in cardiovascular surgical procedures.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures, including preoperative assessments and postoperative care.
    2. Monitor patients' vital signs, assess responses to anesthesia and medications, and intervene when necessary.
    3. Maintain a sterile field and assist with setting up instruments and equipment before surgery.
    4. Act as a scrub or circulating nurse during procedures, ensuring all surgical protocols are followed.
    5. Collaborate with the CVOR team to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety.
    6. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
    7. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the surgical experience.
    8. Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and CVOR training programs.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room, preferably in cardiovascular surgery.
    3. In-depth knowledge of CVOR procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
    4. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
    5. Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience in high-acuity cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgical units.
    2. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and surgical documentation systems.
    3. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
    3. CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification (preferred).
