Job Description:

  • Job Summary:
    • Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring efficiency and safety.
    • Identify anatomy within the operative field.
    • Maintain positive customer relations.
    • Demonstrate competency and possess the technical skills necessary for assigned cases.
    • Work under the supervision of the manager of the Surgical Assistants.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures.
    • Identify anatomy within the operative field.

    • Demonstrate technical skills necessary for assigned cases.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
    • Excellent eye-hand coordination.
    • Ability to stand for long periods.
    • Sound judgment and knowledge of scientific principles.

    Education:
    2 years of college or specialty school in surgical assisting.

    Certifications:
    • NSAA, CFA in the AST, AA-C in the AAPA, or CRNFA in the ONA.
    • BLS.
