POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Registered Nurse (Occupational Health) will perform occupational health care activities, including employee health services, compliance programs, and health and wellness training. This role provides onsite nursing care and guidance for occupational illnesses and injuries, supports OSHA-required recordkeeping, and assists in the management of compliance programs such as bloodborne pathogens, hearing conservation, workers’ compensation, respiratory/hazmat, and ergonomic safety. The nurse will act as a liaison between external licensed health care providers and the facility to ensure timely and appropriate care for employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support OSHA-required recordkeeping and compliance programs.
- Evaluate employee illness or injury, determine medical direction, and implement plans of care based on standing orders and medical directives.
- Assess employees for restrictive duty, return-to-work readiness, and referrals to outside medical providers.
- Conduct safety and ergonomic training; administer drug and alcohol programs.
- Assist in designing and executing employee health and wellness programs.
- Provide onsite nursing care and guidance for occupational illnesses and injuries.
- Collaborate with external healthcare providers to ensure timely care implementation.
- Handle basic issues under direct supervision; escalate complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to health and safety initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Registered Nurse license (or equivalent in other geographies).
- 0 years of related work experience (entry-level candidates accepted).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of medical device quality systems including FDA, GMP, and ISO.
- Experience with occupational health compliance programs (OSHA, first responders, bloodborne pathogens, hearing conservation, workers’ compensation, respiratory/hazmat).
- Ability to coordinate project activities across multiple groups and individuals.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
