Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cath Lab Technician to join our cardiovascular team. The Cath Lab Technician will assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and supporting high-quality outcomes. This role involves preparing equipment, monitoring patients, and maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for procedures.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and pacemaker implantation.
- Operate specialized imaging and monitoring equipment during procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide immediate support in case of complications.
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards throughout procedures.
- Document patient information, procedure details, and equipment usage accurately in medical records.
- Perform equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective patient care.
- Support emergency procedures as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or diploma in Cardiovascular Technology or related field.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures.
- Proficiency in operating imaging and monitoring equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field.
- Prior experience in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology labs.
- Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) – preferred.
