Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Surgery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions requiring advanced organ support and invasive monitoring.
Working in a high-acuity environment, the RN must apply strong clinical judgment, quick decision-making, and comprehensive knowledge to manage patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries and other complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care to patients with critical conditions, including post-surgical, trauma, overdose, and chronic illness cases.
- Monitor vital signs and manage invasive lines, ventilators, and other advanced life-support equipment.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, providing life-saving interventions when needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and use EPIC for electronic charting.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license, with preference or crisis license; candidates with emergency license restrictions are ineligible.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience.
- Experience with EPIC for computer charting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a cardiovascular surgery or critical care setting.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Note: Travel Experience Required.
