Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Long-Term Care provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents in a healthcare facility. This role ensures the highest standards of clinical practice, promotes resident well-being, and supports interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment procedures
- Monitor patient conditions and document changes accurately in health records
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Supervise and support nursing assistants and other staff to ensure compliance with care standards
- Educate residents and families on health management, treatment options, and preventive care
- Maintain infection control practices and adhere to facility policies and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN)
- Experience: Prior experience in long-term care or healthcare facility preferred
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment abilities, communication skills, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation care
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Certifications (if any)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in applicable state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced certifications in geriatric or long-term care nursing (preferred)
