  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit team. The RN will provide specialized care to patients who require a higher level of monitoring and nursing support than a general medical-surgical unit but do not require intensive care. This role involves close patient observation, timely interventions, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Monitor and assess patients with complex medical conditions requiring continuous observation.
    2. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to established protocols.
    3. Perform frequent patient assessments including vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and neurological checks.
    4. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare providers to develop and update individualized care plans.
    5. Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and implement appropriate interventions.
    6. Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
    7. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
    8. Ensure adherence to infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies.
    9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
    2. Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care, telemetry, or step-down unit.
    3. Proficient in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
    4. Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
    5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
    3. ACLS certification preferred.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – preferred.
