  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to support a biotechnology research team focused on developing and evaluating innovative plant breeding methods. This role involves performing plant tissue culture research, processing biological samples, conducting laboratory assays, documenting experimental data, and collaborating with researchers to support scientific projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong laboratory background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based environments.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Support plant tissue culture research activities under the guidance of laboratory leadership.
    2. Process biological samples using sterile and aseptic laboratory techniques.
    3. Execute plant tissue culture procedures, including plant transformation and plant propagation.
    4. Perform analytical assays on plant tissue samples as required.
    5. Measure, image, analyze, and document experimental results.
    6. Coordinate sample collection, preparation, and processing to support research objectives.
    7. Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, observations, and results.
    8. Enter and manage data using proprietary systems and standard software applications.
    9. Analyze experimental data and assist with interpreting research findings.
    10. Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
    11. Follow laboratory safety procedures and standard operating protocols.
    12. Collaborate with cross-functional research team members to accomplish project goals.
    13. Perform additional laboratory duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience.
    2. Experience working in a laboratory environment.
    3. Strong understanding of sterile and aseptic laboratory techniques.
    4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    5. Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive laboratory tasks accurately.
    6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
    7. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
    8. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
    9. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality scientific research.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience with plant tissue culture.
    2. Experience with plant transformation in an academic or industry setting.
    3. Previous biotechnology or plant breeding research experience.
    4. Experience using laboratory imaging, analytical equipment, and scientific data collection software.
