Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The RN will provide perioperative care, ensuring patient safety and supporting surgical teams throughout procedures. This role requires strong clinical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring sterile conditions and proper equipment setup
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in perioperative or surgical settings
- Strong knowledge of operating room protocols and sterile techniques
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior experience in an operating room or surgical unit
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) credential is a plus
