Job Summary
The RN EPIC Super User role is designed for experienced clinical professionals who have hands-on expertise with the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system. This position supports healthcare teams by providing advanced knowledge of EPIC functionality, workflow optimization, and user assistance. While a current RN license is not required, candidates must have a nursing background and recent experience using EPIC.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support to clinical staff during EPIC implementation, go-live, and optimization phases.
- Assist users with system navigation, workflow questions, and real-time troubleshooting.
- Act as a liaison between clinical end-users and the IT/training team to communicate system issues and user feedback.
- Reinforce training and workflow standardization across departments.
- Participate in system testing, validation, and updates as needed.
- Support documentation improvement initiatives by promoting best practices in EPIC usage.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring new users during transition or training periods.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of direct hands-on experience using the EPIC EMR system.
- Must have been an EPIC user within the last 3 years.
- Registered Nurse (RN) background required.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience serving as an EPIC Super User or Trainer.
- Familiarity with multiple EPIC modules (e.g., Inpatient, Ambulatory, ED, etc.).
Certifications
- No active RN license or certifications are required for this role.
- No Rhode Island licensure is required.
