  • JOB SUMMARY
    The Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery provide specialized care to patients throughout the childbirth process, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. This role requires clinical expertise, emotional support, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in maternal or fetal status while collaborating with obstetricians and multidisciplinary teams.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Monitor maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery using advanced assessment tools.
    • Administer medications, IV fluids, and epidural support as prescribed.
    • Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetric procedures.
    • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
    • Educate patients and families on labor expectations, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
    • Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients during labor and delivery.
    • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
    • Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
    Required Qualifications
    • 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in labor and delivery or women’s health.
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
    • Experience in high-risk obstetrics or Level III/IV perinatal units.
    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
