Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ICU RN will be responsible for delivering high-acuity patient care, monitoring critical conditions, and responding rapidly to life-threatening situations. This role demands advanced clinical skills, sound judgment, and a calm, focused approach under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and continuous nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Administer medications, treatments, and life support measures in accordance with physician orders and ICU protocols.
- Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, cardiac monitors).
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document all nursing care accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Adhere to infection control standards and ICU-specific safety practices.
- Participate in emergency codes, rapid response interventions, and resuscitation efforts as needed.
- Maintain a high level of alertness, prioritization, and clinical readiness at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly during emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- ACLS and PALS certifications.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) – preferred
