Job Summary:
The Medical Technologist will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires adherence to established protocols and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure high-quality laboratory services. Please note that all new hires must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will undergo a drug screen, including nicotine, as Kettering Health is a nicotine-free organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tests as ordered in assigned laboratory sections, which may include:
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Transfusion Service
- Microbiology
- Work under general supervision while adhering to established protocols.
- Seek guidance from coordinators or professional personnel as needed.
- Assist Clinical Laboratory Assistants (CLAs) and other technical team members.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science is required.
- Current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP) is required.
- Credentialing through the Proficiency Examination administered under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (formerly Health, Education, and Welfare).
