JOB SUMMARY Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ensures patient comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities - Conducts diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols. - Operates ultrasound equipment to acquire diagnostic images. - Positions patients appropriately for optimal imaging. - Reviews Sonographer images and data for technical quality and appropriateness. - Documents patient care activities accurately and completely. - Adheres to safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards.
Schedule / Shift Standard healthcare shifts, may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED. - Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program. - Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience - Experience performing a variety of ultrasound procedures.
Skills - Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment. - Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EMR / Systems - Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Patient Population - Capable of caring for patients of all age groups.
Unit / Specialty - General Ultrasound, may include specialized areas depending on assignment.
