Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse – Wound/Ostomy Care to provide specialized nursing care for patients with wounds and ostomies. The ideal candidate will assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and educate patients and families to promote healing and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and provide specialized wound and ostomy care based on best practices and patient needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on wound and ostomy care management and prevention.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary to promote optimal healing.
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols in all patient care activities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound and ostomy care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN).
Certifications
- Registered Nurse License (state-specific).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- CWOCN or CWCN certification (preferred).
