  • Job Summary
    The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care and smooth daily operations within a healthcare setting. This position requires strong multitasking abilities, a professional demeanor, and a willingness to support both front- and back-office functions. The MA will occasionally travel to multiple clinic sites to provide coverage and maintain continuity of care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and documentation.
    2. Record patient history, vital signs, and other clinical data accurately in the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
    3. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, instruments, and supplies according to infection control protocols.
    4. Perform basic clinical procedures such as specimen collection, injections, and EKGs as directed by the provider.
    5. Support front desk and administrative functions, including patient scheduling, registration, check-in/check-out, and answering phone calls.
    6. Ensure patient information and medical records are handled with strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.
    7. Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to maintain workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction.
    8. Travel occasionally to other clinic sites (Wellesley, Dedham, Norwood, and occasionally Watertown) to provide coverage as needed.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
    3. Proficiency in Epic EMR (Epic experience required).
    4. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
    5. Ability to travel to various clinic locations when needed.
    6. Flexibility to perform both clinical and front desk/secretarial duties.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
    2. Previous experience in a multisite healthcare environment.
    3. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and scheduling systems.

    Certifications
    1. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Preferred
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Preferred
