  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical provides high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. The RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to deliver safe, evidence-based care that promotes healing and patient well-being. This role requires strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic hospital environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    2. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policy.
    3. Monitor and document patients’ conditions, vital signs, and responses to interventions.
    4. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
    5. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
    6. Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation in the medical record system.
    7. Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality standards.
    8. Support and precept new nursing staff or students as needed.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
    2. Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
    3. Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical or acute care experience.
    4. Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
    5. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    2. Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting.
    3. Proficiency with Epic or other electronic health record (EHR) systems.

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred.
    3. Specialty certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) – Preferred.
