  • Job Summary  
    The Sterile Processing Technologist is a vital member of the Surgery Department, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sterilization, and proper preparation of surgical instruments and equipment. This full-time role (40 hours per week, 4 days of 10-hour shifts with variable start times and occasional on-call duties) supports surgical operations by maintaining sterile environments and organizing supplies for procedures.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Process and sterilize all operating room (OR) and departmental instrumentation.
    2. Clean and test all sterilizers daily to ensure proper function.
    3. Create pre-packaged instrument sets for specific surgical procedures.
    4. Set up case carts for scheduled OR cases.
    5. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes.
    6. Assist in turning over rooms between surgical cases.
    7. Organize and monitor expiration dates on surgical supplies.
    8. Assist surgical team members with gowning and gloving.
    9. Support patient positioning and transport from cart to bed and back.
    10. Stock and maintain adequate surgical supplies.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
    2. Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
    4. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
    5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience in a hospital or surgical services department.
    2. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards.
    3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
    2. Certification in Central Sterile Processing (CRCST or equivalent) – preferred.
