Job Description:

  • Job Summary  
    The RN Medical Surgical/Telemetry provides direct patient care in a hospital setting to individuals with a wide range of medical conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver safe, effective care in both routine and complex situations.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
    2. Document patient responses to interventions and treatments.
    3. Monitor patient condition and promptly report changes to physicians.
    4. Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
    5. Monitor physiological data and intervene when required.
    6. Administer medications, manage IV infusions, and blood products.
    7. Communicate patient care plans with patients and families.
    8. Educate patients and families on hospital procedures and discharge plans.
    9. Refer patient care needs to appropriate staff when necessary.
    10. Delegate tasks to support staff effectively.

    Education
    1. Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
    2. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

    Required Skills & Experience
    1. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    2. Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and patient care techniques.
    3. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate nursing services.
    4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    5. Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
    6. Basic computer skills.

    Certifications & Licensure
    1. Active RN License (State Board of Nursing or Multistate Compact RN License).
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
    3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
