Job Summary
Seeking an
experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse to join a
high-performing surgical team. The RN will provide specialized perioperative
care for cardiovascular surgical patients and collaborate closely with
surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams. Holiday coverage
is a critical requirement for this assignment, and the pay rate is contingent
upon meeting holiday scheduling expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide
comprehensive perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgical
procedures.
- Prepare
and maintain the operating room environment while ensuring patient safety
and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate
with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and OR team members throughout surgical
cases.
- Monitor
patients and assist with specialized CVOR procedures.
- Float
within the facility and scope of practice as needed.
- Participate
in required call and weekend rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum
2 years of CVOR/Operating Room RN experience.
- Active
RN license.
- Ability
to participate in call and weekend coverage requirements.
- Strong
cardiovascular surgical experience.
- First-time
travelers accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous
CVOR travel experience.
- Experience
in a high-volume cardiovascular surgery program.
Certifications
- BLS
(per facility requirements).
- Additional
CVOR-related certifications preferred if applicable.
Assignment Details

Requirement: Friday-Sunday coverage as needed
- Call
Requirement: Variable; typically one weekday call per week and one
weekend call every 5-6 weeks
- Floating: Within
facility and scope of practice as needed

Holiday Requirements
- Holiday
coverage is strongly preferred and impacts bill rate.
- Travelers
are expected to work holidays not included in approved RTO.
- If 1
major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to
work that holiday.
- If 2
major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to
work both.
- If 3
major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to
work 2 of the 3 holidays.

Additional Information
- Please
ensure all RTO requests are finalized and kept to a minimum before

- Clinical
screening is required prior to manager review.
- Full
compliance is required before start date; failure to meet compliance
deadlines may result in a 2-week start-date delay due to orientation
scheduling.
- Non-Billable
Orientation Hours (NBO) are determined by contract length.
- Unit
accepts first-time travelers.
