Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused EEG Technician to join our neurodiagnostic team. The EEG Technician will perform electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures to record electrical activity of the brain, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions. This role requires technical expertise, precision, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for EEG procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort and cooperation
- Apply electrodes and operate EEG equipment to capture accurate recordings of brain activity
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any concerns or complications
- Recognize and document abnormal EEG patterns for physician review
- Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation of procedures
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate EEG equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic accuracy
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times
- Stay current with advancements in neurodiagnostic technology and best practices
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited EEG or neurodiagnostic technology training program
- Strong knowledge of EEG procedures, equipment, and patient care practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology or related field
- Prior experience as an EEG Technician in hospital or outpatient settings
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Certifications (if any)
- Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
