Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Clinical Supervisor to provide shift-to-shift oversight for clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and resource utilization. This role ensures the environment of care is maintained and that patients receive competent, compassionate, and age-appropriate care. The Clinical Supervisor also serves as a role model for organizational values and leads departmental initiatives to improve outcomes and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of daily clinical operations, including staffing, patient flow, safety, and resource utilization.
- Deliver patient care in a competent, caring, and efficient manner appropriate to patient age and needs.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment of care.
- Serve as a role model for organizational values and professional standards.
- Lead and participate in departmental process improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Facilitate employee engagement activities, including professional/shared governance participation.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Additional experience in clinical leadership or healthcare management.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required.
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring – Required.
