Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), managing critically ill pediatric patients with complex medical conditions. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a critical care environment.Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for an assigned group of pediatric patients in a critical care setting.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
- Document patient responses to treatments and nursing interventions accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Initiate and manage IV infusions and blood product administration.
- Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients’ families and caregivers regarding care plans.
- Educate families on treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Delegate tasks to support staff in accordance with scope of practice.
- Maintain a high standard of patient care and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Experience in a Level I trauma environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
