  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for a 14-week assignment in a long-term inpatient behavioral health setting. The RN will provide compassionate, comprehensive care to pediatric patients ages 6–18 with diverse psychiatric and medical needs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and growth.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to children and adolescents with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
    2. Monitor and assess patients’ mental, emotional, and physical status; develop and implement individualized care plans.
    3. Administer medications and treatments, including NG tubes, IV infusions, GI care, and feeding tubes.
    4. Support patients with eating disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and other complex psychiatric diagnoses.
    5. Participate in ECT procedures and apply restraints when required, in accordance with policy and safety protocols.
    6. Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and social workers.
    7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation; ensure compliance with all healthcare standards and regulations.
    8. Float to related pediatric behavioral health units or care areas as needed.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state or a compact state.
    2. Minimum 1–2 years of Pediatric Psychiatric Nursing experience required.
    3. Demonstrated experience working with patients with eating disorders, neurological conditions, and complex behavioral health needs.
    4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
    5. COVID-19 vaccination required.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Previous experience in a long-term inpatient behavioral health or pediatric specialty setting.
    2. Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
