  • Job Summary
    The Nurse Educator is responsible for assessing educational needs, developing evidence-based learning programs, and fostering professional growth among nursing staff. This role bridges the gap between academia and clinical practice, ensuring competency development, quality patient care, and continuous improvement in nursing practice.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct assessments to identify educational needs, issues, and trends in nursing practice
    • Develop measurable outcomes that reflect competence, learning, and practice change
    • Prepare and deliver content using adult learning theory aligned with accrediting agency requirements
    • Facilitate a positive learning environment to enhance nursing practice and influence care plans
    • Evaluate learning activities using reliable methods, revise programs as needed, and disseminate results
    • Champion scientific inquiry by integrating evidence into clinical practice to improve care quality
    • Act as a change agent by developing educational programs and implementing change strategies
    • Provide leadership in competency development, academic partnerships, and decision-making processes
    • Mentor nursing staff to foster professional growth, lifelong learning, and committee participation
    • Demonstrate advanced maternal-child nursing skills, including:
    • Fetal monitoring
    • Cardiac arrhythmia identification
    • V medication titration
    • ain management with epidurals
    • Managing laboring patients requiring acute interventions
    • Operating room experience as circulator and scrub nurse for C-sections

    Required Qualifications
    1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current MA RN licensure
    2. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
    3. Minimum experience in Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) nursing practice
    4. Demonstrated expertise in maternal-child nursing and advanced clinical skills
    5. Experience meeting core competency standards of nursing professional development practice (ANPD)

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. ANCC certification in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferred
    2. NRP Fetal Monitoring Instructor certification preferred

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Current AHA certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
    2. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
