  • JOB PURPOSE
    The Nurse Educator functions in the intertwined roles of change agent, mentor, facilitator of learning, leader, advocate for the clinical nurse educator specialty, champion of scientific inquiry, and partner for role transitions. Drawing on adult learning theories, experience, knowledge, and evidence-based practice, the educator transforms clinical nursing practice and advances professional development across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as a change agent through the development of educational programs and implementation of change strategies
    • Mentor and foster professional growth, lifelong learning, and participation in committee work
    • Facilitate a positive learning environment bridging academia and clinical practice
    • Conduct assessments to identify educational needs, issues, and trends
    • Develop measurable outcomes that reflect competence, learning, and practice change
    • Prepare content reflective of current evidence using adult learning theory in accordance with accrediting agency requirements
    • Consult with stakeholders to influence plans, enhance abilities of others, and effect positive nursing practice changes
    • Evaluate learning activities using reliable methods and instruments; revise and disseminate results
    • Champion scientific inquiry, generate new knowledge, and integrate evidence into clinical practice
    • Provide leadership in nursing practice competency development, academic partnerships, and influencing decision-making bodies
    • Perform advanced maternal child nursing practice including fetal monitoring, cardiac arrhythmia identification, titration of IV medications, pain relief modalities (epidurals), and management of laboring patients requiring acute interventions
    • Demonstrate operating room experience in circulator and scrub nurse roles for c-sections
    • Apply advanced assessment skills in Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) nursing
    Qualifications / Experience
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current MA RN Licensure
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
    • Certified ANCC in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferred
    • Current AHA certification in BLS required
    • NRP and ACLS required
    • NRP Fetal Monitoring Instructor preferred
    • Experience meeting core competency standards of nursing professional development practice as set forth by the Association for Nursing Professional Development
    • Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) nursing experience required
    • Advanced skills in maternal child nursing practice, including fetal monitoring and acute intervention management
    • Operating room experience in circulator and scrub nurse roles for c-sections
