Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical to provide high-quality patient care in a clinical setting. This role involves delivering bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients, monitoring patient conditions, and administering treatments in accordance with established medical protocols.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide direct bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients
- Administer and document prescribed medications and treatments
- Perform clinical procedures such as dressing changes, IV insertion, and catheter placement
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition
- Operate and adjust medical equipment and accurately record patient data
- Collaborate with healthcare teams on discharge planning and patient care transitions
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Adhere to established nursing standards, protocols, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or similar clinical setting
- Experience providing care to adult and geriatric patient populations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with post-surgical patients across specialties such as orthopedic, urology, colorectal, bariatric, neurology, or general surgery
- Familiarity with clinical tools and systems such as Pyxis and SBAR communication methods
- Experience working in medium to large inpatient units
Certifications (If Any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
