  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse (RN) – PICU provides high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients. This role involves monitoring, assessing, and responding to complex medical conditions, collaborating closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomes for each patient and family.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Deliver safe and effective nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the PICU.
    2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
    3. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed and according to established protocols.
    4. Monitor patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and identify any changes requiring immediate intervention.
    5. Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
    6. Provide emotional support and education to patients’ families regarding treatment plans and care expectations.
    7. Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control and safety policies.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited program.
    3. Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a critical care or pediatric setting (PICU experience strongly preferred).
    4. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience in a Level I or Level II Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
    2. Prior experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems.
    3. Advanced training in pediatric or critical care nursing.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
    2. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification – required.
    3. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN – Pediatric) certification – preferred.
