Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Psychiatric Services department is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering direct and indirect nursing care across assigned areas. This role involves developing and periodically updating individualized interdisciplinary care plans, evaluating patient outcomes, and coordinating resources to support patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to psychiatric patients using the nursing process.
- Develop, implement, and periodically update individualized interdisciplinary care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes to ensure effective treatment and care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify and coordinate patient resources.
- Manage stress and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (2-year program) required.
- Current valid State of Maine RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training prior to start.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in mental health nursing.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
