  • Job Summary  
    Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) participates in the delivery of patient care. The CNA provides direct clinical and support services to patients and families across the health care continuum, functioning as an effective member of the health care team by contributing to the efficient operation of the patient care unit and ensuring quality patient/family outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide delegated patient care under RN supervision, maintaining clear and timely communication.
    2. Report changes in patient condition promptly to the supervising nurse.
    3. Assist the IV team with procedures (PICC, midline, PIVs), including sterile setup, dressing changes, documentation, and equipment care.
    4. Support patient comfort and communication using professional standards (AIDET); respond to call lights, pages, and phone calls.
    5. Maintain accurate documentation, required certifications, competencies, and compliance with hospital policies.
    6. Contribute to a safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment, including handoffs and staff orientation.
    7. Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked unit environment by managing supplies, equipment, cleaning, and waste disposal.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program.
    3. Current CNA certification.
    4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    5. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
    6. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience in an acute care hospital or similar healthcare setting.
    2. Familiarity with IV procedures and sterile techniques.
    3. Knowledge of hospital documentation systems.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – required.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) – preferred.
