  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to provide comprehensive periodontal and preventive dental care to children and adults in a community health setting. Working under the supervision of a dentist, the RDH will improve oral health outcomes for underserved populations, often participating in mobile clinics, school-based programs, and community outreach initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Direct Patient Care: Perform scaling and root planing, remove hard/soft deposits, and polish teeth.
    2. Preventive Care: Apply preventive agents, including fluoride and sealant applications.
    3. Diagnostics & Assessment: Take digital X-rays, intra-oral photos, and perform oral screenings for gum disease and oral cancer.
    4. Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques, provide nutritional counseling, and support tobacco cessation.
    5. Clinical Support: Maintain patient records in an electronic medical record (EMR) system, sharpen hand instruments, and assist with sterilization.
    6. Outreach: Support community outreach programs and remote sites, offering screenings and preventive services.

    Required Qualifications
    • Active state Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) License.
    • Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license).
    • Experience in a fast-paced or community health clinic (FQHC) setting preferred.
    • Proficiency in preventive dentistry, patient management, and electronic health records.
    • Flexibility and willingness to travel between clinic sites and perform outreach services.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience working in mobile dental clinics or school-based programs.
    2. Familiarity with underserved patient populations and community health initiatives.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Active RDH license (California).
    2. Radiation Safety Certificate required.
