Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct care to cardiac telemetry patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role involves monitoring patients before and after cardiac procedures, assessing their condition, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to rhythm changes
- Initiate and manage IV lines
- Administer cardiac medications and drips safely and accurately
- Provide care for patients pre- and post-PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
- Document patient care and update records in a timely and accurate manner
- Educate patients and families about procedures, medications, and ongoing care needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and cardiac drip medications
- Ability to manage high patient ratios and acuity levels
- Open to first-time travelers
- Local candidates accepted
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience
Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
