Job Summary
• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician
• Deliver care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit focused on adult patient recovery
• Assist with treatments, medications, and routine procedures to support patient health and safety
Key Responsibilities
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately
• Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety procedures
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and post-discharge care
• Support physicians and RNs with clinical procedures and assessments
Required Qualifications
• Active and unrestricted LVN/LPN license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a medical-surgical unit
• Strong understanding of basic nursing procedures and protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in a hospital medical-surgical setting
• Familiarity with multiple EMR systems
• Experience with patient education and discharge planning
Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred
