Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our pediatric care team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support to children and assist nursing staff in delivering safe, high-quality care. This role is essential in ensuring patient comfort, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting families throughout the care process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Feed children who require assistance and monitor food and fluid intake
- Safely reposition, transfer, and transport patients (e.g., bed to wheelchair)
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report changes to nursing staff
- Maintain patient hygiene by changing bed linens, cleaning rooms, and ensuring a safe environment
- Support admission, discharge, and transfer processes for pediatric patients
- Provide emotional support to children and families, fostering trust and comfort
- Assist nurses during procedures by preparing rooms, handling supplies, and supporting minor tests or procedures
- Monitor and document patient behavior, symptoms, and changes; escalate concerns to nurses as needed
- Maintain clinical inventory by ordering and restocking supplies
- Respond to call lights and patient requests promptly to ensure safety and comfort
- Assist with routine checks, including intake/output measurements, specimen collection, and basic testing (e.g., glucometer)
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC)
- Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a pediatric care environment
- Physical ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility
