JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the weekend CT Technologist will perform a variety of diagnostic procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for multiple diagnoses or interventions. Responsible for performing CT and X-Ray examinations according to protocol and age-specific needs, including patient preparation.

Key Responsibilities
- Performs CT and X-Ray procedures according to protocol.
- Consistently provides images of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups; follows established imaging and viewing protocols.
- Operates imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology and CT procedures efficiently and effectively.
- Completes quality imaging in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet patient standards.
- Interacts with patients to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
- Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent.
- Screens patients for surgical implants, allergies, etc.
- Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high-quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
- Performs exams while attending to patient care before, during, and following the exam and notifies the appropriate party if a patient’s condition changes at any time.
- Coordinates scan protocols with the Radiologist.
- Serves as an expert resource for clinical, technical, and process-related questions for other Technologists.
- Transfers and properly positions patients for examination to obtain desired results according to physician’s specifications or protocols.
- Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Maintains a positive and professional atmosphere for patients.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical or emotional stress.
- Practices sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination.

Schedule / Shift
- Weekend coverage.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- ARRT certified or eligible upon hire.
- Has at least one advanced modality license with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Computed Tomography (CT) or X-Ray – preferred.
- Venipuncture experience is preferred.
