  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology (IR) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. This role requires advanced clinical skills, strong critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced procedural environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
    2. Monitor patient status and respond to emergent situations with appropriate interventions.
    3. Administer medications and sedation as prescribed.
    4. Assist physicians during interventional procedures and ensure patient safety.
    5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital standards.
    6. Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions.
    7. Maintain infection control and safety protocols in procedural areas.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or Compact RN License (eNLC).
    2. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    3. Strong knowledge of procedural nursing practices and patient monitoring.
    4. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior experience in critical care or procedural nursing.
    2. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
    2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification – required.
