Job Summary:
The EVS (Environmental Services) Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and a safe environment within the facility. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, handling waste disposal, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
- Collect, transport, and properly dispose of medical and non-medical waste.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carts.
- Restock and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom products as needed.
- Follow established infection control and hazardous waste protocols.
- Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 year of experience in environmental services or janitorial work.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a healthcare or medical facility environment.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols.
- Shift: 5 Days x 8 hours (11:00am-7:00pm)
Certifications (if any):
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) – Preferred.
