  • Job Summary
    The CT Technician is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role ensures patient safety, operates advanced imaging equipment, administers contrast media when appropriate, and maintains compliance with established clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.

    The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional patient care skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    Patient Care
    • Prepare and position patients for CT examinations according to established protocols.
    • Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
    • Verify patient identity, medical history, and physician orders before performing imaging procedures.
    • Monitor patients during examinations and respond appropriately to any changes in condition.
    • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
    • CT Imaging Procedures
    • Perform a variety of diagnostic CT scans in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
    • Operate CT imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
    • Ensure image quality and accuracy prior to submission for interpretation.
    • Utilize proper radiation safety techniques and follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
    • Administer contrast media as appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
    • Equipment & Quality Assurance
    • Perform routine equipment checks and quality control procedures.
    • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report malfunctions promptly.
    • Maintain imaging equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
    • Ensure compliance with departmental quality assurance standards.
    • Documentation & Compliance
    • Accurately document procedures, patient information, and imaging records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Radiology Information System (RIS).
    • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
    • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
    • Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
    • Collaboration & Support
    • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    • Assist with scheduling and workflow management as needed.
    • Support emergency and trauma imaging procedures when required.
    • Participate in department meetings, training, and continuing education activities.

    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
    • Current Radiologic Technologist license (if required by state regulations).
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.
    • CT certification or eligibility to obtain CT certification within the required timeframe.
    • Knowledge of CT imaging procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety principles.
    • Strong communication and patient care skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Proficiency in imaging software and electronic medical record systems.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous CT Technologist experience in a hospital, imaging center, or acute care setting.
    • Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT CT).
    • Experience with trauma, emergency, or critical care imaging.
    • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences or a related healthcare field.
    • Experience with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.

    Certifications (If Any)
    • ARRT Certification in Radiography (Required)
    • ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) Preferred
    • State Radiologic Technologist License (if applicable)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Preferred or Required per facility policy)
