  • Job Summary  
    The Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology Manager oversees nursing operations within the Interventional Radiology (IR) department. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care, manages nursing staff, coordinates workflows, and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced procedural environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within the Interventional Radiology unit.
    2. Oversee daily operations, including patient scheduling, preparation, and post-procedure care.
    3. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in patient safety.
    4. Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    5. Monitor patient progress and intervene promptly in case of complications.
    6. Manage staffing levels, assignments, and performance evaluations.
    7. Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff to maintain clinical competency.
    8. Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in departmental audits.
    9. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, and outcomes.
    10. Serve as a resource for patients and families, providing education and emotional support.
    11. Assist in budget management, supply inventory, and resource allocation for the IR department.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
    2. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    3. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in Interventional Radiology or a related specialty.
    4. Previous leadership or management experience in a clinical setting.
    5. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
    6. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience managing nursing teams in procedural or surgical environments.
    2. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
    3. Advanced training in patient education and counseling.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
    2. Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN) preferred.
    3. Leadership or management certification is a plus.
