  • Job Summary:
    We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Psychiatric Unit team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, focusing on their psychological, emotional, and physical well-being. Your responsibilities will include patient assessments, implementing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and improve mental health outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Patient Assessment & Monitoring:
    • Evaluate and monitor patients’ progress, identifying sudden or subtle changes in their mental or physical health.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized care plans.
    • Care Delivery:
    • Administer treatments, monitor medication doses, and ensure proper implementation of therapeutic interventions.
    • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, alerting appropriate healthcare providers as needed.
    • Provide care and support for patients throughout their recovery, including in the ICU if required.
    • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Deliver regular updates on patient status to physicians, patients, and family members.
    • Collaborate with mental health professionals, social workers, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
    • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all assessments, treatments, and progress.
    • Complete all required paperwork prior to patient transfers, ensuring continuity of care.

    Required Qualifications:
    Education:
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

    Licensure & Certifications:
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (as per organizational policy).

    Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with a preference for psychiatric or mental health settings.
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR for electronic health record management.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in managing patients with complex psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, schizophrenia, and substance abuse issues.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and empathy.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
